I was tagged by Moonbeam McQueen for this fun and fanciful meme. As usual, I will not be tagging anyone so have at it, if you’d like. I’m going the photo-op route since I’m all about the show-and-tell.
5 things found in your bag…
The Bag:
This is one of my smallish bags. I’m notorious for toting a bonkin’ large bag that whacks into folks when I walk by them, so once upon a time the ex talked me into downsizing my baggage. Ha! But don’t you worry…I’m bringing back my big ass bags this summer…oh yeah!
The contents:
Okay, so there are more than five things. I’m aware of this. I CAN count. Let’s see what we have…
In no particular order - my cell phone (pink!), my iPod (pink! - are ya noticing a theme here?), some gum, a datebook, my wallet (which is almost as frickin’ big as the bag itself), hand sanitizer, Origins matte lip pencil in Gingersnap (wouldn’t be caught dead without that baby - gotta have the poutin’ red lips), hand lotion, tape measure (size DOES matter), pocket knife (hey, ya never know), Hello Kitty compact mirror (a must-have for every fashionable chick), and my dear ol’ friend - a bottle of Xanax. I also have a stash of Splenda in one of the pockets but didn’t think that was photo-worthy.
5 favorite things in your room…
The picture my daughter drew when she was 3 yrs. old. I LOVE her plump pink butterfly!
Vern the Fern. My daddy got me this fern approximately 24 yrs. ago…I know, can you believe it? It has traveled with me to every home I’ve lived in. I almost lost him one year when my cat decided to bed down in the center of him but I managed to nurture him back to health. He’s looking a little ragged after this past winter but he’ll be back in full fern-arific form in no time.
Me bed. Ooooo…I loves me bed. Look how comfy and inviting it is! I think I shall take a nap right now. Heh.
Peonies - painted by my Grandma. Need I say more?
Gus boy - such a handsome fella. Just look at that boy - he’s a heart breaker. How could he NOT be my favorite? (Sorry, Ridley…you wouldn’t sit still long enough for me to snap a pic and include you!)
5 things you are currently into…
- Painting
This here is the one and only painting that I’ve done that is in my possession. All others have been given away. I’m beginning to paint again and will keep all the new pieces so I have a collection of my own!
- Photography
- Blogging
- Being a crabby ass bitch (ha, had to sneak that one in)
- Being crafty. Not like witch-crafty (well, only an occasional eye of newt), but being crafty as in crafting all sorts of fancy things to sell on my new website
Some funky coasters I’ve been working on.
5 things you have always wanted to do…
- Travel – to Europe; Italy, in particular – we ARE going George…aren’t we?
- Rob a bank and not get caught - or win the lottery (whichever is most likely - I’m guessing robbing the bank is probably a better bet than winning the lottery)
- Have a tummy tuck (if you’re reading this Dr. Rey-please, please, please pick me!) I’ll take a boob lift, too, if it’s not too much to ask
- Live on a farm so I can have a million trillion animals
- Eat as much chocolate as possible and not gain any weight

You Crabby? Who’d a thunk it?
Yep…that’s my middle name. But ya still love me, don’tcha?
Okay CRABBY your middle name???????? ummmmmmmmm nah.
Nahhhh…just kiddin’. But I CAN be a bit crabby!!
How are you dear? Did you have a good weekend?
[...] to keep up the momentum. For inspiration, I used my trusty friend the tag surfer and happened upon this blog and decided to do my own version. Maybe I’ll be inspired to write something more [...]
Watch out guys, she’s got a tape measure and she knows how to use it.
I’m a big fan of the fern (ivies too).
Wow, three generations of artists. I love your painting. Beautiful.
I so want to get into photography. If I had the time I take a class, but since I don’t I’m contemplating on getting a “photography for idiots” book.
You ought to put a link where you say “my new website” to help direct traffic that way. You are referring to NiftyThriftyGirl.com, right? Or is there a NEW new site?
Cool coasters.
Your odds are better and worse with the bank, if you get my meaning.
Italy would be really cool.
I think I might see a farm way off in my future too.
I love this meme.
Haha. I WILL use it!
I loves the plants - oooo ivies, yes. I did have a lovely grape ivy that my friend gave me in college but I accidently left it on my porch last winter. Oops. I was sad about that.
You like my painting? You really like it? Heehee…thanks. It’s not a very good photo. It’s hard to capture it in the right light.
I really enjoy photograpy, just wish I was better at it. I’m trying to use my art background and get some funky shots. I’ll keep trying.
Yes…referring to NiftyThriftyGirl. Still working on the online shop concept. It’s a bit scary. When I bust out with all the new products I’ll shamelessly promote the shop from this blog. Ha!
Geesh, I’d better stop now - I’m bogarting my own comment space!
loving the contents of your purse, especially the knife, since I carry one too, and pink I have everything in pink too….great minds to think alike. Oh and I love the purse! I hate to carry a ginormous bag now because I can never find anything. Your artwork is fabulous too! I may steal the meme at some point. Thanks for posting it!
I love pink electronics…fun, fun, fun! Thanks for the compliment…I wish I had kept more of my paintings but I painted them so long ago and back then I didn’t have anywhere to hang them.
Love your paintings. All of them.
And your Gus Gus is such a beautious boy!
Thank you!
He is a beauty…and he’s not even a purebred…he’s just a mutt! (My daughter calls him Gus Gus, too!)
Love this! I’m going to rob YOU to get that purse, it’s great! Xanax, ha! ha! ha! I have that same pill bottle
The tape measure, ha! size does matter! You little devil! Your child’s artwork (what is better than that?) , priceless and the dog too, just goes without saying, my gawd, he’s GORGEOUS! And the fern plant from your dad, I have to say, I’m so impressed, I usually kill a plant within the first month
Even the one that my work sent to my dad’s funeral… I took it home and it died. I cried for days, I felt like I killed something that was part of him… pathetic, right? Plants do not like me. In fact, I have one here from my work (from when the husband’s grandma recently passed) and it’s look’n a little shaky. STUPID PLANTS! Thanks for sharing this great post!
Thanks Lumpy! Turns out I didn’t have to steal it from you as I was tagged by Moonbeam. I had so much fun doing this meme. Hey…you don’t have to rob me…you can HAVE the purse. Heehee! For some reason I was blessed with my great aunt’s green thumb - most of my plants are quite old - but the fern is the oldest. I’m going to bawl my eyes out when it dies.
I think we were separated at birth. I have the EXACT same pink mini iPod. We rule!
Heehee…separated at birth, yes indeed! We DO rule!
yeah I did
except the last two days havent been that great
Sorry to hear that. Keep your chin up - we’re all thinking of you!!
This is so great! You’re so talented, and it must run in the family– both your painting and your grandma’s are wonderful.
I seriously love Gus.
Care to share the link to your website?
This was a really rich meme. Thanks so much for doing it!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I love Gus, also - nothing like a 95 lb. baby! He snuggles right next to me in bed every night - snoring in my ear. Now that is true love…heehee.
The website is NiftyThriftyGirl.com - I do have a link on my sidebar but I don’t think anyone ever scrolls down that far. Not much going on with the site right now. I’m trying to find time to get the online store up and running and write some more articles. Once I do get it going I’ll plug it shamelessly through this blog!
Thanks so much for tagging me - it was great fun!
My chin is never going down until the day the lord puts me in his arms forever…. and that wont be for years

I know you won’t let your chin go down - you are SO strong, Kaylee!
Why do all my bloggeratti friends carry knives, including me? Homeland Security is going to flag us as terroristas.
Hey, we chickies have to protect ourselves, don’t we? Although, I must say, I had a close call the last time I was catching a flight - almost forgot to remove Mr. Knifey from my bag. Oooo, that wouldn’t have been pretty.
Oh man, I love that plump butterfly. That is awesome. I hope her artistic career blossoms beautifully.
Thanks, yeah - it’s my fave. She’s really into art and the kids in her class always ask her to draw things for them and she happily obliges, so I do believe she is on her way!
I love the tiles!!! and the painting!!! Inspiring…think I may stretch a canvas soon and try to get back into painting…been so long…almost a year since I’ve put brush to canvas….
Thanks G! You’ll have to show me how to stretch canvas-I’ve never done my own…always just buy the pre-made ready-to-go canvas.
HI 2 lazy dogs!!!! I have to thank you for all the support that you are giving me appreciate it alot
Hey Kaylee,
You are very welcome! You are an amazing and inspiring person. If you ever need ANYTHING just let me know…and feel free to email any time!
Wow…artistic skills run in the family…I love your grandma’s painting, and yours, AND your daughter’s work of art!!
Thanks, Romi. Yeah…I’m pretty fond of my Gram’s painting. She has done tons of paintings but never gave any of them away…they are all over the walls in her house. Now that she’s 93 she has started giving them away. I’ve always loved the peony painting so I finally got up the nerve to ask her for it!
Certainly will..
Hehe…I’m into pink electronics too…I have a pink cellphone and a pink MP3 player. The pink MP3 player is very practical, as it keeps me from accidentally taking my husband’s identical-except-for-the-color player.
Ah, yes…pink is awesome. I also have a pink camera. I’ve decided from now on any small electronics that I buy shall be pink…and ONLY pink!
Gus needs a theme song. What cool pooch.
Love the black and white pic.
Crabby ass bitch? You?
Maybe I don’t know you well enough yet?
~m
Oh, yes…a theme song. What a great idea. Too bad I’m no good with song lyrics. I’ll have to leave that to you. He is a dear heart. I love him so!
As for the crabby ass bitch-ness; maybe it’s just age, maybe it’s just a phase, maybe it’s just me being sick of dishing out the niceties day after day and getting nothing in return. Maybe crabby ass bitch isn’t the proper phrase to use - maybe “tired of putting up with shit” is a better phrase (I’m trying to see how many times I can use “maybe” in a paragraph. Ha.). This too shall pass.
whew! I’m glad you didn’t put scrapbooking. scrapbooking is lame and ruins things. I think I’ll start an anti scrapbooking movement. any followers?
Haha…scrapbooking. Ugh. Honestly, after my daughter was born I did buy supplies to start an album for her. That didn’t go too well. I managed to get one page done. I thought I was going to pull my hair out…I don’t like scrapbooking one bit. Count me in on the anti scrapbooking movement!
I can’t tell you how much I love that painting you have done. I’ve shown it to one of my friends and she is enamored as well. Please share more!
btw, thanks for the blog fun, I’m a new fan!
Why, thank you. That makes me feel all gushy inside. Not really, I just wanted to use the word gushy.
Honestly, that means a great deal to me…so glad you and your friend like it. I’ll share more as soon as I complete them. Still working on getting studio space so I can make a mess somewhere other than my house.
Hey…you’re welcome for the blog fun…I checked out your’s as well…you had me at “I hate coconut with a passion”!
That’s a fun picture of the butterfly. Butterflies are quite common for girls to draw but this plump one is brilliant!! ! I am a jewellery artist dedicated to turning children’s drawings into jewellery and am always surfing the web for examples of drawings. I am researching for a new online gallery I am planning for my website to celebrate the creativity of children and wondered if you would be interested in displaying your child’s drawing there? My website can be found at http://www.amjewellery.co.uk
Hi Avril,
Thanks! I love my daughter’s plump butterfly picture - it truly is my favorite. We would be honored to display the drawing on your website!
