Since my nine year old daughter believes that she is an expert on everything I thought it would be fun to ask her some questions about dating, love and marriage. And now, for your entertainment…
WHAT DO PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
E: They talk about themselves so they get to know each other better. And they sometimes drink beer and wine and go to a restaurant.
WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
E: I’d say its okay when kids aren’t around and its in a quiet room (with lights on and stuff) right after you’re talking about yourself and stuff.
IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
E: Its better to be married so you have the dad to take care of the kids and help – so you won’t be alone and have your hands full.
WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE FALL IN LOVE?
E: Probably because girls think men are handsome sometimes and they laugh a lot – and men think women are hot and cute because some have slim bodies.
WHAT DO YOU THINK FALLING IN LOVE IS LIKE?
E: I think it is very dreamy, you just doze off . You’re calm and relaxed and thinking about getting married.
HOW DO YOU MAKE A PERSON FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU?
E: You dress up nice, put makeup on to make all your zits go away, lipstick and eyeshadow, and nice clothes. Men would wear a suit and tie.
WHAT DO YOU THINK MOST PEOPLE ARE THINKING WHEN THEY SAY “I LOVE YOU”?
E: I’m gonna have a good life with this man or woman. I’ll be happier, I won’t be alone.
HOW DOES A PERSON LEARN TO KISS?
E: Probably from their parents because they kiss with their husbands and kids see it.
WHAT IS THE PROPER AGE TO GET MARRIED?
E: Um, I’d say 32, because most people don’t have babies when they’re really young.
HOW DO PEOPLE MAKE LOVE LAST?
E: By being nice and dreamy to each other.
And there you have it…from the wisest of the wise!
what cute daughter you have there. hee… 😀
Thanks! She was very pleased that she got to be interviewed.
Wow, this is impressive! What did you think of her answers? I was especially impressed with the last 2! I really think this was a great idea on your part, would love to hear how other girls her age would answer!
I was actually surprised at her answers. After seeing me go through this last bad break up I would have thought she would be more cynical. She really is an old soul…and her way of thinking often amazes me. I love how she uses the word “dreamy’…wait, is this the 1950’s?!?!
Your daughter is for sure the wisest of the wise! I LOVED her answers!
I think we should ask her for some more advice…Maybe I can bring my next bf around for her to “check out.”
Amazing how kids just know stuff. She is waaaay smarter than I was at her age….I wanted to be rich and famous, get married in my early 20’s, have kids immediately after being married and thought that I would become a celebrity (not that I had a specific talent in mind..just I guess a socialite or something).
It’s great that you interviewed her. She probably felt really important and I don’t think parents do this enough. I can tell you’re a really great mama.
Thanks for your comment! I was surprised at some of her answers – especially with all the media influence on kids her age. She loved the fact that I interviewed her and loved it even more when she found out I was going to post it. She thinks she is “famous” now! But even then she said “You know, I really don’t want to be famous like Hannah Montana – she never gets any peace”.
Thanks for the comment about being a great mama – I’m trying, but I don’t always make the wisest decisions. Its true that being a parent is the hardest job – ever!!
Oh what can I say to that…how cute!
This is when I want to have kids of my own. 😦
Someday…
Awww…you will!
Oh yes, very wise!
I love how she says ‘dreamy’
Isn’t she? I love that she uses that word – don’t know where she got that…
That is so adorable! Great idea and I love her answers!
Thanks! Now she is excited and wants to do more interviews. I’ll have to have everyone submit questions next time and post her answers. That would be fun!
does your daughter watch grey’s anatomy?
because i think she might have learnt the word ‘dreamy’ from that show.
you know… mcdreamy…?
hahaha…
i’m sure she’ll grow up to be a wonderful young lady and get her own mcdreamy one day. 😉
No, she doesn’t watch Grey’s Anatomy. Funny, I really don’t know where she picked up that word…but I love it. I hope she does get her own McDreamy one day!
This is so funny! You should have a little series and ask her questions all the time. You can have your guests choose some different topics (like career progression, interviewing for a job, first date etiquette, how to break up). Oh I can’t wait to tune in!!
Your daughter is brilliant. Brilliant!!
Thanks! I do think I should start a little series. She LOVES the idea of interviews. When I told her I was going to do this last one her eyes lit up! I’ll have to set up some kind of format whereby you all can submit questions for me to ask her. What fun!!
What a sweet little girl. You are blessed.
Thank you! She is awfully funny – and wise for her age.
I like Catherinette’s suggestions….I think the first one should be how to break up with someone…that would be hilarious! Is this going to be a weekly or bi weekly thing? I will DEFINATELY tune in.
I’m not sure I can keep up with weekly interviews! I’ll start out with bi-weekly and see how it goes.
Love it! I’ll try it on mine.
I’ll be interested to see what B’s answers are!!
