On a whim I decided to paint my dining room this weekend. The color of choice – purple. Yes, purple. It’s not a garish, girly purple, it’s more of a deep, silvery purple. My wonderful, helpful pooches are now sporting coats that match the walls as it is seemingly impossible to paint (or do anything, for that matter) in this house without them under foot. I thought I’d share this drawing with you to demonstrate the loveliness that now dons my dining room walls – and my dogs’ fur. I wonder what my neighbors will think when they see me walking my stylish, purple coated dogs?

Gratuitous Dining Room Shot (because Red asked, she shall receive):
Good for you.
It’s looks great. It’s really lovely drawing. I like deep purple color and it makes me be delightful sometimes.
Thanks! And thanks for stopping by.
The drawing is nice, but where are the pictures? 😕
Dammit! I was so worried about getting another coat on the walls where the dogs rubbed the paint off that I never even thought to grab my camera. Where the hell are you when I need you? And now it’s too late because we’ve been brushing them all weekend and the paint is mostly gone.
I think they will say – “My, what royal looking animals” since purple is, after all, the color of royalty. My dog goes in the yard with the doggie door shut when I do things like painting. Of course, once she’s in, she always manages to find the one spot that isn’t yet dry. 😉
WC
WC,
Oh yes, they will be very pleased to be considered royalty. They are already “high and mighty” in my book. I wish they would stay outside for extended periods of time, but, alas, they won’t. My lab just wants to be by me at all times – lying at my feet. If I don’t let him in, he pounces on the windows and has already smashed through one and ended up with stitches in his paw. The other, a Border Collie mix barks like a maniac or will dig a hole to China if I don’t let him in. The neighbors aren’t very fond of his antics.
You know dogs need a new hairdo every now and again too! I believe they are walking around proud and the envy of every other dog on the block. I can only assume that you have started a new trend and all the other dogs on the block are going to start showing up painted! Nice drawing BTW!
Ahahaha…good point. I’m taking them over to play with a friend today. I’ll see how she reacts to their purple coats (although, it has mostly faded). Thanks – I’m glad you like the drawing.
Your skills keep improving miss. Keep bringing them. You are probably the best illustrator of dogs ever. I wish I could do that.
Why, thank you B5. Do you really think so? I’m quite sure there are plenty of excellent illustrators of dogs out there…but thanks a bunch…that means a great deal coming from you, oh-great-illustrator!
Lovely picture!
But pics of the walls would be cool, too!
Thanks! Ok, ok, I’ll get some photos of the walls up for ya!
When my dog was a puppy, he liked chewing my ink pens and turning blue or chomping on some pastels and looking like a rainbow. The pastels were miles easier to wash out than the ink. 😉

Oh…the ink would have been BAD! So far, mine have not gotten any pens but my Lab grabs knives out of the sink and runs around wielding them. That is a scary sight…one of these days he’s going to stab someone!
Thanks so much for the link!
Nice clean dining room table!!! 🙂
It doesn’t look anything like it did on Saturday, does it? Ha. It’s piling up again, though. Ugh.
LOvely drAWING!!!
Thank you, Kaylee. I hope you are feeling well today!
I Aam not feeling well at all 😦 this cancer is really taking a toll on my body 😦
Kaylee,
I’m so sorry to hear that. Keep your chin up hun – you are amazingly strong and I know you will pull through this!! As always, I’m thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way. Hope you have a better day!
FANTASTIC! I’d love to do that too, it’s just such a huge project 😦 Looks phenomenal! And, love the paintings of your pooches! I’m embarrassed to admit this but we’ve lived in our house for 13 years and we have never painted the first floor walls – they are a boring tan color but we take extra care of them so we would never have to paint. Well, I see other people doing projects (like you) and it makes me want to pick out an awesome color and go for it.
Thanks! I am so fickle, honestly, I have to tell you that this is the 4th color on these walls! love to change the colors every few years in most of my rooms. My daughter’s room is next on the list. Right now it’s a vibrant pink and she’s decided she wants green. The only rooms I haven’t changed are the living room and my bedroom. Hmmmmm…maybe it’s time to change those as well!
Thank you 2lazydogs!
You are so welcome, Kaylee!
That color is GORGEOUS!
See, if I went to the paint store to try and pick out an airy, delicate, sophisticated shade of purple like that, I’d come home and paint my walls, only to have it look like Barney the dinosaur puked all over the place. I can’t pick out good paint colors to save my life.
I love the way you decorate!
Thanks! Actually, the original color was too light for my liking so I grabbed a can of black paint and mixed it in until I came up with the color I wanted!
