Welcome back, folks. Continuing on my random pictorial ramble, I thought I’d share some photos of my beautious garden with you, behold:
Ooooo, ahhhhhh….
And some bouquets from the garden:
Yes, I love my roses. I fill my house with fresh cut flowers as often as my garden permits. To me, there’s nothing better. While we’re on the subject of gardening I’ll show you my ferns that I poached from the Pennsylvania forest. Well, from my Grandmother’s forest…so, that’s technically not poaching, correct?
Bag o’ ferns being inspected by the PA Forest Ranger’s illegal fern poaching sniffing dog. Yeah, he wishes.
And, the lovely ferns in their new home (surrounding my deck):
Oh, and please don’t take note of the stone walkway in front of the ferns because those were also poached – from the beach. Apparently, (and I just found this out) it’s illegal to remove stones from our public beach. Oops. I guess I’m just a common criminal.
And here we have my favorite spot – my wonderful deck where I sit, drink my coffee, write posts, and chat with my love (*sigh*)
Isn’t this fun? Do you feel nosey? Aw…it’s okay. I’m nosey too. And there’s still more to come, kiddos. Until next time…
What a lovely garden/sanctuary you’ve got going there.
i am wondering what those purple flowers are called?
There’s a house in my neighborhood that has a huge profusion of these in the yard and i love the look of it.
Thank you, c. The purple flowers are clematis. They are lovely, grow rather quickly (and up to 30 ft. high & 5 ft wide)and come in many different colors. I’m partial to the deep purple – called Jackmanii. And although the blooms are reported to last for 4 months mine have only ever lasted for about one month. Must be my soil/location/climate.
You little crook! Ha! I love this post. I’m extremely nosy 😉
If I were there I’d share a cuppa with ya! Have an awesome weekend and enjoy your glorious garden! I’m jealous. I have a black thumb. Not good, nor do I have patience with plant life. 😦
Ha! I am a little crook.
Oooo…it would be lovely to sit on the deck with you and share a cuppa. Come on over! You have a great weekend yourself!
I love it when people post photos of their homes and surroundings. I didn’t realize what a green thumb you have. Your deck looks very inviting. I love fresh flowers in the house. Thank goodness my sister is an avid gardener and I can steal from her. I guess we are both just common poachers. Oh well. Beautiful photos, I can smell the flowers.
I think I inherited the green thumb from my great aunt. She always had her house filled with plants (mostly African violets) and I was interested in plants and their care at an early age. Unfortunately, I don’t spend enough time in my garden. I’ve added more and more perennials every year and just let them grow out of control to hide the weeds.
LOVE your new avatar, Joan! But…I can’t quite discern whether it’s the shot of you falling on your ass in the dark or the shot of you eating in the dark!!!!
Beautiful garden! I love roses! Love your deck too… thank you so much for sharing… I love posts like these!
Thanks, Girly. I do love the roses and my deck. I could live out there!
You have beautiful flowers! I love your deck-great place to relax…and blog-lol!
Thanks, M! Yes, the deck is a great place to do EVERYTHING. Just last night I had all my best girlies over for cocktails on the deck. I have lights strung in the trees surrounding it and it makes for an inviting little evening setting. What fun!
And I already thought that wherever you are was heaven…these pictures just proved it to me!
It’s too bad there aren’t any pictures with the most beautiful thing in your garden…you.
Well, you shall just have to come and see this heaven on earth for yourself…then you will get to see me in my garden!!
Yes, so beautiful. You’re lucky to be able to look at all these lovelies everyday.
Thanks, Red. Yes, they are perdy. And it cheers me up to see such lovelies every single day!
It was nice to see a garden in the sun shine. My poor garden is drowning with all the rain we have gotten, or I should say thunderstorms, from this past week. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Sunshine,
Thanks for stopping by! We’ve had a bit of a wet week as well, but luckily the storms come through in the morning and it clears up by mid-afternoon. Unfortunately, the torrential downpour yesterday ruined most of my rose blooms. But I’m not going to worry because they will just keep rejuvenating.
Gorgeous garden and flowers and oooh, I want that deck. You lucky gal, you.
Annie
Thanks, Annie.
I do love my deck. It brings me great joy!
did i see basil mixed in with your floral arrangement??
i love your yard, when can i come over?
Hey Reg,
Nope, it’s not basil…it looks like basil but it’s Silver King (artemesia).
Come on over…I’ve got a cold one waiting for you, sista!
You have a great touch for outdoor arrangement.
Why, thank you, Evyl. Want me to come over and arrange your ‘stuff’?
Your deck looks much better than my office to write from. I never get excited about flowers until now. Should I be worried?
Yes, it is a great place to write from, and I never know when a great post might present itself, what with a dangerous well in my backyard, three young girls building a tee pee out of dead branches, and two rambunctious dogs frolicking around.
Uh oh…excited about flowers? Did I ‘turn’ you? Heh.
Those flowers are beautiful!! I worked in landscape for a few summers and got the itch for flowers/plants and can’t get enough of them! I hope someday I have a garden half as nice as the one you’ve got.
Thanks, bluesuit. I’ve always loved plants & flowers and the first thing I did when I bought my house was start the garden…so it was established 12 years ago…and certainly didn’t look anything like it does now!
Sorry, but what an awesome place to smoke a cigar.
I know, you’d ask me to leave.
I smoke and I’m used to hearing it.
But I do smoke good cigars. Does that count?
~m
Oh, no, no, no, you can certainly smoke a cigar here. Just no smoking inside, please. I enjoy the smell of a good cigar…just not day old beer and stale cigars..that were left for me to clean up!
Love the garden. The fern the most. I funny like that, but the flowers are very nice too. Pictures of my place in Arizona would only reveal lots of dirt, weeds and some cactus. 😐 Who is this “love” you are chatting with? Did I miss something? 😕 How’s that for nosy? 😛 I’m running way behind on my reading, but I don’t think I’ve missed anything. Hmmm…???
Thanks, Mr. P. I do love the ferns…they just make everything look so lush. I don’t think I’d be happy with dirt, weeds & cactus. I need lush greenery.
Yes, yes you DID miss something. Where the heck have you been? I’m in loooooooove, Mr. P.!! Read this and you’ll see! https://2lazydogs.wordpress.com/2008/06/21/six-word-memoir-meme
Been there, read that, and now I know the rest of the story, or at least a good start to said story. Congratulations on your find. 😉 I’m very happy for you. I sneaktid a peak over at his place. I may do more peaking in the future if I can find the time. As of late I seem to have buried myself in blog reading, and I’m sinking fast. 😯 I’m gonna have to work on that. 🙂 You take care and enjoy this newly found love. I’ll be in as often as possible to check up on you. 😉 Hopefully I will be back to my daily visits in the near future. 😉 Later.
Thanks, Mr. P. Please do check back, ’cause you know me, I need to be watched!!
Hey, how is your back treating you? Hope it’s better and you’ve found the source of the problem. Take care and see you soon! 😉
