We’ve had a busy week here in the hood; friends visiting from Florida, girls night out, circus came to town, hanging out at the beach, got a new purse. And here are some pictures to prove it:
First, some pics of the girls night out, well…of the drinks and the scenery seeing as no one would give me permission to show their face.
My beer with sister in the background taking photo…
The view of the lake from the deck we were sitting on:
Kate feeding the zebra some beer. We almost got kicked out for molesting that zebra. It was too irresistible to ignore. And we didn’t see any signs indicating that we weren’t to feed or touch said zebra. Who the hell puts a blow up zebra at a bar and expects it NOT to be played with?
And then the circus came to town! Yes, a real, live circus. I have, honestly, never been to a circus in a real circus tent, so this was a first for me. I was a bit Ieary about being in a tent with tigers and elephants and was quite sure one of the elephants would stampede but there were no mishaps. The kids had a blast and E even got to ride a camel.
Entering the big top:

I was bummed, though, there wasn’t a funnel cake in sight. WTF?
One evening we took the kids to the beach, started a fire, made some s’mores, and had some beer (the adults only, of course, because what goes better with s’mores than beer? Gag).
Kate’s foot, my foot
They made me sit on the log with the protrusion. Yeeeeouch!
And because we’re all conscious about safety…
We paid close attention to the directive on the blanket.
The girls playing with glow sticks in the dark
Oh yes, and I mustn’t forget – I got a new purse; pink, of course
Whew. It was a very busy week. I’m tired. I’m going to go take a nap.
That log looks extremely dangerous.
Very, very dangerous, indeed. I was afraid for my life (um, well…the life of my vag, anyway)
LOL. Looks like you had a blast. Well, except for almost molesting a zebra and for having to sit on the “funny” log seat. Love your new purse. I’m not normally a purse person but that is a nice one. 🙂
Hi Teeni,
We did have a blast. Yeah, the zebra, he was a problem. I think we may have popped him. Oops. And the “funny” log seat…that was a test in balancing right there! I am loving my new purse, but then again, I love all my purses when I first get them – then, sadly, they join the purse pile in the closet, never to see the light of day again.
I went to a circus as a wee little chap and all I really remember is the fact that I went. Would you recommend a follow-up trip? The zebra totally had it coming. 😛
Oh yes, the circus was definitely fun. I’d go again – even though the animals make me sad. I feel bad for those poor elephants, camels and tigers having to travel in small cages all over the country just so people can gawk at them. Ha. And then I go ahead and exploit them by paying for circus tickets and letting my daughter ride one. Gah.
The zebra DID have it coming.
Sounds like a lovely week! Watch out for that log it looks like it’s up to no good! 😛
*swipes purse and runs*
Just kidding… I do love that bag though! 🙂
Yes, a lovely week, indeed. That log was a hazard. Luckily, I kept my balance all night and didn’t slide or bump into ‘it’!
Oh…you can have the purse, but can I just keep the contents? Hahaha!
We really missed out. We made fun in and around Frederick – see http://www.philomenamoonshine.com – but we miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!! L, J.
We missed you! Hope you can make it up in the fall. We’ll do Pumpkinville, etc. Glad you had a fun home-vay-k.
Wish we would have been able to partake. We miss you terribly.
Oh, looks like my first comment took – well good – now there are 3.
It WAS a fun time! I’m beat, though!! 🙂 A nap to us both!
Yes it was! Me, too. Nighty-night!
I love the beach blanket/fire and the glow stick pictures. I had to look away at the log picture. The danger was too great to comprehend.
Thanks, Maleesha.
Yes, please look away…danger was imminent!
What I took away from this post was Zebra-molestation, smores, funnel-cakes and pyromania….hmm…my 4 favourite things??? 😉
Hahaha…what a coincidence…my 4 favorite things, too!
OH i am glad you are having fun 🙂 I am doing so well 🙂
Thanks, Kaylee. Glad to hear you are doing well…and cooking up all sorts of yummy treats…yay!
I’m jealous! You’re weekend sounds/looks like fun…except for the log. EEK!
Oh, don’t be jealous. It was fun, indeed…but we had our share of screaming, whining, overtired kids. The log…I handled that, no worries!
I love these photos, and especially the zebra and purse. I love pink too. Glad you had a great time. Good fun!
Thanks, DDTD. The zebra was a hoot! We were like kids who couldn’t keep their hands out of the candy jar – we couldn’t leave it alone.
Great photos! Looks like you had so much fun. I love this caption:
“My beer with sister in the background taking photo…”
You have your priorities straight!
Hi Moonbeam,
Thanks, we did have fun. Yep…gotta keep those priorities straight. Ha!
I do believe there was a sucker punch to the Zebra at one point….too much of Mr. Jack Daniels?
Heh. I do believe it was the JD! Bad girls.
