Here’s a fun little photo meme I swiped a while back from Pammy Girl and Nandandgo. Sorry ladies, I’m a thief, it’s true.
It’s pretty straightforward. You are to go around your house with the following list and take pictures AS IS (no cleaning aloud ’cause that’s called CHEATING). Luckily, I had recently (recent, as in this summer) cleaned and I wasn’t required to take a photo of the dining room – because the dining room table is the catch-all and is COMPLETELY covered with junk. Sometimes I forget I even have a dining room table since I can’t see it.
I’m pretty sure you were just supposed to post one pic per room but, oh well, I took a bunch of photos ’cause I like to show ‘n tell.
Living Room
My living room is HUGE so I had to take three pictures for you to get the ‘full effect’. Unfortunately, the dog crates take up almost half of the freakin’ room.
Laundry Room
Pretty basic. Washer. Dryer. Shelves.
Kitchen sink
Boring…
You really want to see my entire kitchen, don’t you???
This is my favorite part of my kitchen…my espresso machine. Oooooo, ahhhhh…
Closet
Arrgggghhhh. Just looking at it makes me hyper ventilate. This is the ONLY real closet in the house. My house was built in 1910…apparently, before the invention of closets. None of the bedrooms had closets so we built little closet-like cubbies in the corners for extra storage.
This is the cubbie in my bedroom; it holds all the bed linens (the top shelf is completely crammed full of pillow cases – I have a habit of collecting them):
Toilet
My bathroom is teeny tiny…the toilet is hiding around the left corner. I could only back up so far – it was hard for me to get an entire shot of the ‘twoilet’. Heck, you’ve see one toilet, you’ve seen ’em all. *Notice the lovely blue wallpaper that I hung myself. Love, love, love it…even though it was a shitty, cheap paper and I ended up hanging it not once, not twice, but three times (the third time using super glue). Nothing like spending an evening hanging wallpaper, walking into that room the next morning and seeing all the paper curling off the walls. Grrrrr.
Fridge
Yeah, I know. Crammed full of stuff. Remember…I’m keeping EVERYTHING from my cupboards in the fridge to keep all those nasty moths away.
Shoes
This is just a sampling. These are the shoes I throw into one of the many cubbies. Many of these shoes don’t even see the light of day. I wear them once or twice and throw them back into the pile.
And here are the shoes that I wear the most. They get a prestigious spot on the porch floor. Lucky shoes.

This is me, first thing in the morning. Bwhahahaha! NOT. Don’t be silly, first thing in the morning I need a coffee IV. This is me at the end of an exhausting day. Beer was definitely needed.
Whoo hoo! I loved that you stole this meme to do. I like looking at other people’s stuff and your house looks awesome. And I have to say I really loved that you were watching VH1. I’m guessing it was one of the I love the 90s as Elvira presented the biggest boobs of that year…and she oughta know. HAHA love it.
Phew. I was hoping you girls wouldn’t have me arrested for thievery! Yes, I was watching VH1 – “I love the 80’s”, actually. Gotta love those 80’s.
You have such a beautiful house! I love it!!! The windows and the hardwood floor… I’m incredibly jealous. I wish more people would steal ideas from me; I’d feel more love if they did.
Awwww…thanks! I do love all the windows and the hardwood floors. But, you should have seen the house when I bought it 12 years ago. Ick. Blue shag carpet, orange walls. It was AWFUL. And under the carpet in the living was what was left of the carpet pad – a purple putty that took a week to scrape off the floor. Fun.
Oh what fun! I love your blue wallpaper in the bathroom – I can see why you gave it the full three tries before giving up. It is very pretty. Hey – I have that same wicker chair WITH the same cushion and everything as in your living room! Well actually, I passed it on to my niece when we did our porch over because we didn’t have room for it! I love your kitchen – what glorious light in there because of all those windows! I lust after your espresso machine too! 😉
Thanks, Teeni. Yeah, the blue wallpaper was a must for me. I saw it and had to have it. Just wish it hadn’t been such a hassle. Oooo…we have the same chair? It will be going onto the porch once I get my new club chair that I’m saving for. I do love all the windows in my house…and all the natural light. Heehee…the espresso machine is my new best friend!
Oops – I hit submit too soon. Sorry about that. I also wanted to say that you and all your “kids” are lovely! I don’t think I’d seen your feline kid before this meme
Awww, thanks, Teeni! I think I’ve only posted one pic of Percy (the feline kid) before. He’s a hard one to photograph, what with his paparazzi phobia. He really is a lovely cat. We adopted him along with his brother when they were just babes. Unfortunately, Pip (his brother, and my buddy) got hit and killed by a car last year. 😦 My daughter is terribly attached to Percy so I was thankful that he was spared.
Ummmm, I cant quit looking at that Human kid……
Haha. She’s a wild one!
How on earth do you drink that smelly tasting beer?
MMmmm…mmmmm good!
Lovely house, dogs, daughter and you! 🙂
You were watching VH1’s 80’s countdown weren’t you! 😆
Thanks, Girly! I love your house, as well. I’ve been in mine for 12 yrs. and am ready for a change. I have my eye on an 1850 Italianate with inlaid floors and tons of history. Ooo…and an in ground pool.
I was watching VH1’s “I love the 80’s”. 🙂
Hi 2,
Your house looks surprisingly like mine, except cleaner. As to closets, since ours was mostly built in 1842, I feel your pain! Of course, people back then didn’t really have that many clothes, so I guess it makes sense from a historical perspective. While you have excellent taste in the brand of beer you drink, I question the “Lite” choice. My favorite part of our kitchen is the double ovens. And, yes, dog cages take up an enormous amount of space!
the Grit
Hi Grit,
Yes, the folks back in the day didn’t know what they were missing with no closets. I can’t imagine keeping all my clothing in a wardrobe or chest.
Ummm….whaa…t? “Lite”? No way. It’s Sam Adams Octoberfest, my dear! No Lite beer here. I actually snagged an entire case of the Octoberfest because it is hard to get my hands on around these parts. It flies off the shelves. I just happened to hit the beer distributor in PA when a new shipment arrived. Woo hoo!
Soon, my favorite part of my kitchen will be the new Viking convection oven that will be installed. The poor espresso machine will surely take a back seat to that.
Well, since I’ve seen the house many times…..I have 3 things to say…..it looked VERY clean! I need to look over those sweaters you have been talking about and when did the glasses arrive? LOVE them! Lunch Thursday?!?
Ha. We’re working on it – everything has finally been shipped off to the garage (except for stuff in the dining room – still can’t see the table). And the sweaters are there. Just remind me and you can take a look. Those are my ‘cheater’ glasses. Can no longer see – the farsightedness has taken effect and seeing as I don’t have vision with the new ins. I bought a pair of the magnifiers so I could at least see the computer! I think I look like a librarian. How appropriate, don’t you think? Just started E’s room today – no more pink walls. 😦 Blue is the color of choice. Yes, lunch Thurs. as far as I can tell – location?
Beer and Chocolate Syrup. Now that is the way to stock a fridge.
Absolutely. No way I’d live without either. Haha.
im wild too!you Sure you want to meet another one of her? i am sure she dont fantasize about have sex with donkeys though 😉
Eek. Don’t tell me that, K. Now you’re frightening me!
This meme is kickn’ ass and taking numbers! I lurve it (as you would say, got that from you and cannot stop saying it, so thank you very much- everyone I know, family, friends, and co-workers, and bloggers.. they thank you too).
Your house is so pretty! I love the white blinds, the white 1/2 boarded walls (I don’t know what they call that, but I’d love to have that- to break up the monotony of the walls and add texture)- white makes everything look so polished and neat. My friend just had those blinds put up in white all throughout her house- it’s amazing!
I’m coming over for dinner. Man, your fridge looks packed with goodies 🙂 And, the brew… I’ll have one of them there too 🙂
Love the pic of your daughter, she’s beautiful! The pups, and of course, the ever so gorgeous- 2LD- I am so happy you posted that because I”m printing as many blog friends pics as possible and am going to plant them on my world map in my computer room 🙂 AWESOME, huh? I know, right…
This is great! Thanks for satisfying this nosy nelly- ha!
Awwww…thanks, JQ! I’m pretty happy with my house…finally. It’s taken 12 years to get to this point. Phew. I’m a big fan of white…but now I’m actually leaning a bit more towards black accents. I’ve already painted a few things black – tables, cupboards. I change my mind constantly – almost as much as I change the colors on my walls! Yeah, I like the beadboard or wanescoting as it’s also called. It’s a bitch to keep clean, though. It’s throughout my kitchen, laundry room and bathroom.
I like to use the roman shades because they let more light in. I actually made the ones in the kitchen – little miss crafty momma that I am. And the shutters throughout the house – heehee – I got those in the junk. Oh yeah! Can you believe it? My neighbor was ripping them out of her house and as soon as I saw them laying curbside I snagged them. I painted them all white ’cause they were a darker wood that didn’t go with my decor.
Oh, you clever, clever gal. You have a world map with all your blog friends plotted? Cool beans.
I know, I am SUCH a nosey nelly, too. I love to get a peak into everyone else’s lives/homes. Stay tuned. I just re-did E’s room and will be posting the pics soon!
PS, you are quite the little shoe whore, aren’t you? Muah-ha-ha-ha! Way to go Imelda 🙂
Heehee. Yes, I am. I can’t seem to part with any shoes. I still have my clogs from 6th grade! Eek!!
award time, at my place- come on over Shari 😉
On my way, thanks!
A very nice house, to say the least.
My wife wants your laundry room.
I must, however, recommend Harpoon Octoberfest rather than the Sam Adams.
Both are Boston-brewed but ‘Poon totally kicks Sammy’s ass, personally.
Very cool post.
~m
Thank you very much, m. The laundry room needs help – specifically a new floor. Ugh. But, I’m planning on laying a slate-like tile. I’m looking forward to that. Mmmmm…Harpoon Octoberfest? I shall look for that. The Sam Adams was a bargain so I snagged it.
You are a cutey-patooty! And seeing your home makes me feel even more like I know you. Wow! What a great home you’ve made!
Heehee…from one cutey-patooty to another!!! Thanks, T, come on over and have some coffee with me!
i am sorry 😦 i love you 🙂
Oh, don’t be sorry! I love you, too!! 😉
I am so happy to see you and your home. I love your home and you are a cutie.
My kids drink Sam Adams. They also drink what Michaelm suggests the Harpoon Octoberfest. They also brew their own.
I love the inside of your fridge and all the organic stuff. Beautiful house.
I couldn’t possibly take photos of my house now. It literally looks like a bait and tackle shop. My son took all of his fishing equipment out of storage (over 30 rods) and it’s all over the living room and kitchen. He is selling it on Craigslist. He has gotten quite a good response.
I just don’t like living in a bait and tackle shop.
Did I actually see tags still on a pair of shoes?
Awwww, thanks Joan!
I’ve never seen the Harpoon but will be looking for it – ’cause Michael says so.
Luckily I didn’t have to take pics of the dining room. It is now eBay headquarters. We just cleaned out my daughter’s closet and are selling all of her old clothes & toys. I’ll be glad when it is all gone and I can see my dining room table again.
Heehee. Yes, you did see tags on a pair of shoes. If I find a pair I really, really love I’ll buy more than one pair. The pair with the tags still on are my Reef flip flops. I usually wear the heck out of them in one summer so this year I bought two pair but never had to break out the new ones.
love the house !
you dooooo have pillah cases, dont you ! wow.
i’d like to steal your ottomon please.
Thanks, Red. Yeah…the pillow cases they are amassing. My poor ottoman has seen better days. The dogs have chewed it’s legs and just last week I came home to find a yellow highlighter seeping into the lovely, brown suede-like fabric. Looks like it’s time for an ottoman slip cover!
You are my hero…I don’t think I could show off the bathroom. It’s crazy scary at my place. And I love the shoes…that is the best thing to shop for as far as I concerned. No matter how fat I feel…shoes always look great!
Awww, thanks cowgal! I have to keep the bathroom sparkling, what with all the white in it.
Ahhhh…shoes, yes. As long as my feet look good…that’s all that matters. Heehee!
Thank you for the tour. 🙂 I won’t be doing this meme for fear of having a hazmat team show up at my front door and quarantine and/or condemn my house. I would however like to start taking more pics to share now that I am home. Yet another fire that needs lighting under my ass. 😉
I angled the camera in such a way not to capture any of the ‘bad’ stuff. I’m tricky like that. Heehee. Oooo…I can’t wait for you to start taking more pics. I do hope you’re getting settled in, and are happy to be home.
Hooray for Sammy Adams! You have fine taste, my sweets.
Hooray, indeed. I do need to find some of that Broken Rake you speak of. Unfortunately, the beer offerings around here are not the greatest.
You’re soo purty !
Shucks, Red. Thank you. And so ARE you!!
