The beautiful and hilarious Trisha over at Talkin’ Trash with Trisha tagged me for this photo meme. Yay! Another meme…and I didn’t have to steal this one. Phew.
Here are the rules:
1. Go to your pictures file.
2. Go to the 4th file.
3. Go to the 4th picture.
4. Post it and tell the story.
5. Tag 4 more people.
I’ll follow the rules up until the last part because I’m a party pooper and don’t tag. Consider yourself tagged if you like.
Well, would you look at that! Thankfully, it was a funky photo – you never know what you’ll get from me because I do have a shit ton of pics of the dogs and various other boring things seeing as I take my camera everywhere these days – and shoot just about anything that moves…or doesn’t move.
The story behind this isn’t terribly exciting. Hey, you can’t have it all.
This is the burning bush next to my house. I’ve lived in the same house for twelve years and every year since my daughter was old enough to stand for a pose I’ve taken her ‘Halloween picture’ in front of the burning bush because it is always such a great backdrop in all its red glory. Well, this year she refused to pose for me so I was out taking pictures of the lonely little (um, actually quite large) bush and decided to take some ‘artsy’ closeup shots. I then decided to play around with Photoshop, manipulated the saturation, hue and then reversed the colors…and voila! there you have it. End of story.
Wouldn’t let you take her picture??? 😯 I hope you grounded her for a month. 😛 Homey don’t play that. 😉 It’s a very pretty picture. I wish they all came with a little story like this one. 🙂
Yeah, go figure. She’s at that stubborn age. As a parent you’ve got to pick your battles. This was one battle I chose not to start. I’m a lover, not a fighter, anyway.
Thanks. I thought it was a cool pic…and all of my pics have stories…some better than others!
That is a cool pic.
Thanks, Evyl.
Mine was so lame it reminded me to clean out my files. Thanks!
Hey, no problem! Glad I could help. I have to organize my photos constantly since I take so many.
Aww. It must be hard to adjust to when they get old enough to NOT want their picture taken. Anyway, you did an awesome job on that photo. Reversing the colors of the plant life was a neat way to manipulate it! You are so creative! Hey, how’s the knitting going?
I was a bit miffed that she wouldn’t cooperate this year. She’s in that defiant stage. Grrrrrr. Thanks. I loved the way it looked with the colors reversed. Manipulating photos is so much fun!
The knitting is going well, thanks for asking! 6 scarves and 4 felted bags (one in progress) done! How about you? Whatcha working on?
i love it!
Thanks, Kaylee!
Oh, how cool that you reversed the colors! Too bad your daughter wouldn’t pose (OMG, I soooo understand that)…. but dang, this picture is totally awesome, I love it! I don’t have photoshop- but you and BP are pretty wicked ass on it, I have paint shop pro– that’s what I could afford 🙂
Anywho, mad props!
Thanks, JQ. Photoshop is awesome…I’m still learning. I’m actually using Photoshop Elements ($100 vs. the full Photoshop version at $700 *gulp*) Thankfully, my sister is a graphic designer so she’s agreed to give me lessons. Woo hoo! Then I’ll really be rockin’ the photos!
BRAVO! I knew you would post some absolutely beautiful photo and you certainly did!
I have a few large burning bushes in my yard but now I am seeing them in a whole new light!.
(Note to self: GET PHOTOSHOP program!)
Thanks, girlie…and thanks for the tag! We lucked out. I was almost SURE it would be a dog photo.
(Note to Trisha: Get Photoshop Elements it’s much cheaper than the full version)
tell your daughter to get in front of that damn camera! or i will make her when I come out your way 😉 👿
