I’m a bad blogger. Bad. Bad. Bad. I’ve been neglecting my blog…but for good reasons. I’ve been bogged down with loads of crap as of late; some good, some bad…or rather, disappointing, disheartening and disturbing (you know, all the “d” words). All of which I will divulge in future posts. I also have a confession to make. I’ve been cheating on my blog. Yes, it’s true. I’ve been spending much of my time over at Facebook. So, yeah. I’m a bad blogger. But, now that I’ve confessed I’m going to work on getting back into the groove.
I’m currently working on some posts and hope to be back in full force early in the new year. For now I’d like to leave you with some photos I took yesterday. We had high winds – some gusts reached 75 mph, and your’s truly risked life and limb to capture these shots. It was a gray, gloomy day but as soon as the sun peaked out I knew I had to grab my camera and head down to the lake. And when I got there. I was shocked. It was so very exciting, I felt like a National Geographic photographer, minus the fierce, wild animals. Foolishly, I forgot it was winter, neglected to wear a hat and gloves and nearly lost all my fingers to frostbite. I’m actually surprise that my little camera didn’t fly out of my hands with the wind as wicked as it was. Honestly, it was so crazy outside yesterday my adrenaline was pumping as I clicked away to get these photos:
Wild and crazy, no? See ya’ll in a bit!
They are all so wild and awesome. That second to last one is pretty amazing. I just keep thinking how hard it is to tell the clouds from the waves – it almost looks as though the clouds are falling from the sky into the water! But I love them ALL! Gorgeous!
My daughter loves the second to last one. She keeps saying, “It looks like the waves are turning into clouds!” I’m still thrilled with the pics and am hoping we get another wind storm so I can get some more!
They are some cool pics. And it’s nice to see ya back.
Thanks, and thanks. I can never stay away too long!
Yeah, I’ve seen ya around a bit *a-hem* on facebook *wink* These pictures are absolutely amazing. They look like paintings… you are so lucky you got these shots!
Yeah, I’m bad. It’s just one more addiction I don’t need!
I was lucky, indeed, to get these shots and I’m glad my cautious side didn’t get in the way because I was really not going to get anywhere near those waves!
what kind of camera do you have Shari??? Inquiring minds….
A Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP
What great photos! Totally worth a finger or two 😉
I hear you on the cheating thing. I was cheating on my other blog with my current one and then abandoned the old for the new. But times have changed! The current one is more reflective of my current life. And I’ve done the opposite of you – since blogging, I’m almost never on Facebook 😛
Thanks! Definitely worth it.
I seem to be waxing and waning with all my online ventures. Maybe it’s just a lack-of-attention kinda thing. I seem to pay more attention to the ones that garner me the most comments. Yeah, I’m a comment whore. And my REAL website, poor thing, I’ve all but abandoned that.
Wow….I cannot wait to see that on friday… 🙂
*note to self: bring extra memory card for camera*
It’s not the same unless we have high winds. I went down yesterday and it’s all gray and gloomy. No fantastic waves or blue clouds. But, you never know. The weather here changes every 5 minutes so we may get some great photo ops.
those are amazing photos…but now let’s hear some “words” 🙂
Thanks!….the words are coming, sista! Soon!
Oh man those are freak’n awesome!! Lucky you to be able to get such cool shots. Glad to see you back on here and am looking forward to the new posts in the new year.
Thanks! It was really an incredible experience, getting such great shots all the while hoping my fingers didn’t freeze!
Facebook, oh, right!! Yeah, I go there too on occasion (like 4 times a day.) I just took a couple of days off my blog too. I was Christmas tired.
Awesome photos!! I love to go down to the beach during a storm. It gets my old heart pumping. Happy New Year!!
Silly me, I’ve set up this add-on for Firefox that lets you keep up-to-the-minute tabs on FB. Ugh. So, now I sit around watching and waiting.
It seems like I’ve always taken the beach for granted…since I live less than a mile away from it. I’ve come to appreciate it more now that I’m into photography.
Hope you have a fab New Year!!
I’m going to go price check that camera- thank you and I didn’t know there was a firefox add on for FB, Thanks for the mad tips.
And Heyyyyy! Have fun 😉
Where in the world did you take these? Fabulous! Do you sell your work or have a photo blog? You should think about it!!!
Thanks, Pammy. These were taken on Lake Erie in WNY. I’ve honestly never seen waves like this on the lake. It was phenomenal. I do have a photoblog – 2LD’s PB&J. And, I also sell prints on Etsy.
Hi 2,
Ooooh! Pretty.
