No, no, no, not You, Who…but YooHoo…my traveling buddy visitor! YooHoo arived on Wednesday afternoon from Trisha, and let me tell you, that cute, little, laughing lemur has spunk. From the minute I opened her box until now it’s been go, go, go! The first thing YooHoo spotted was my wine rack.
She climbed up and made herself right at home. I should have known that living with Trisha she’d be accustomed to the finer red wines! She was not happy with me when I refused to open my bottle of Greg Norman 2000 Shiraz. Sorry YooHoo, I didn’t feel like drinking wine that evening (yeah, that’s a first for me!)
Just look at that face…how could I resist? Well, I did. I opted for a delicious raspberry porter that evening. YooHoo said she’d never tried raspberry beer before but was willing to give it a whirl. And whirl she did!
I forgot to mention that this beer has a tendency to ‘take effect’ quite quickly…and before I knew it…YooHoo was passed out on the kitchen counter! I haven’t had anyone pass out at my house in a long time. It almost made me want to grab the Sharpie and write silly things on her face.
Apparently, lemurs sleep with their eyes open (and a grin on their face!) We hit the hay early (she a bit earlier seeing as she couldn’t function) and were up at the crack of dawn the next morning to take E to school. E wanted YooHoo to come to school with her but Mom said “No” (I was afraid the teachers might detect a bit of beer breath and would make accusations).
So instead, YooHoo went to work with me. First, we had to go to a meeting and YooHoo was bored out of her mind. She sat in my bag and took a quick nap. Then we headed off to a painting job. I thought she’d be subdued today seeing as she had a bit too much to drink last night but oh, no. That quick nap must have revved her up because as soon as I poured the paint into the paint tray – SPLASH! She hopped right in. Bad girl. I grabbed her as quickly as I could but she managed to flail all over the place, eventually climbing up me and getting paint all over!
Look at her just grinning from ear to ear – so proud of herself! And notice Gus to the left…giving her the evil dog eye.
We got cleaned up, had a quiet dinner at home and then took YooHoo for a quick tour of the town.
First stop, our local library:
We then headed out to some local wineries…unfortunately they were already closed so we just drove by:
We even came across a field of deer and YooHoo wanted to stop and look, she said it reminded her of home:
Sadly, it’s just about time for YooHoo to travel on to her next destination. She really wanted to stay longer because shes going to miss the girl’s overnight that was planned for tonight – including food, food, games and margaritas. We had a great time with YooHoo, Trisha. Next time pack yourself in a box and come along!
YooHoo will be heading out in the mail later today to Joan’s. She’s looking forward to seeing the island. Hope you have a good time with YooHoo, Joan. Make sure you have plenty of libation on hand!
