Fourth & Fourth Meme

The beautiful and hilarious Trisha over at Talkin’ Trash with Trisha tagged me for this photo meme. Yay! Another meme…and I didn’t have to steal this one. Phew.

Here are the rules:

1. Go to your pictures file.
2. Go to the 4th file.
3. Go to the 4th picture.
4. Post it and tell the story.
5. Tag 4 more people.

I’ll follow the rules up until the last part because I’m a party pooper and don’t tag. Consider yourself tagged if you like.

Well, would you look at that! Thankfully, it was a funky photo – you never know what you’ll get from me because I do have a shit ton of pics of the dogs and various other boring things seeing as I take my camera everywhere these days – and shoot just about anything that moves…or doesn’t move.

The story behind this isn’t terribly exciting. Hey, you can’t have it all.

This is the burning bush next to my house. I’ve lived in the same house for twelve years and every year since my daughter was old enough to stand for a pose I’ve taken her ‘Halloween picture’ in front of the burning bush because it is always such a great backdrop in all its red glory. Well, this year she refused to pose for me so I was out taking pictures of the lonely little (um, actually quite large) bush and decided to take some ‘artsy’ closeup shots. I then decided to play around with Photoshop, manipulated the saturation, hue and then reversed the colors…and voila! there you have it. End of story.

Sleeping & being lazy
Red wine (bottles and bottles of it)

4 random facts about me

I’m very grumpy if I don’t get my coffee fix first thing in the a.m.

I often feel like I’m moving in all directions and can’t seem to settle on which way to go
I’m a HUGE procrastinator

Mr. Peter Parkour has so graciously tagged me for a musical meme. And seeing as I love memes…and music…I couldn’t pass this one up. The rules are simple: post a song and/or video that puts a smile on your face no matter what kind of mood you are in. There are no special rules, do with it what you will, but it would be greatly appreciated if you give a little shout out and link back to the post from which it was stolen borrowed. So you must, must, MUST stop over at Hate and Anger and pay Mr. Parkour a visit. You won’t be disappointed. But be prepared for the chuckle factor for he keeps me in stitches daily.

Honestly, this was tougher for me than I thought it would be because there are so many ‘bouncy, happy, cheery’ songs that put a smile on my face no matter what my mood. Since this is my blog and I’m never very good at following rules I’m choosing two songs to post. The first song is a song that has always made me smile…even a long, long time ago when I was wearing my rainbow t-shirt and corduroys with a big comb stuck in the back pocket when I heard it as a youngster:

ELO – Mr. Blue Sky

PS: If any of you guys are daring enough to grow a ‘fro like Jeff Lynne’s…I would totally date you.

This next one is from my college years. Oh, what fun we had. This song always reminds me of hanging out with my bestest friend, JLCB, drinking, dancing, beating up someone’s coat, vomiting out of car windows and just being plain silly. It always makes me smile (and sometimes even giggle out loud) and I can’t help but dance when I hear it (much to the horror of my child).

Erasure – Star

Damn! Did Andy Bell just get hit in the head with an asteroid?

Picture This!

Here’s a fun little photo meme I swiped a while back from Pammy Girl and Nandandgo. Sorry ladies, I’m a thief, it’s true.

It’s pretty straightforward. You are to go around your house with the following list and take pictures AS IS (no cleaning aloud ’cause that’s called CHEATING). Luckily, I had recently (recent, as in this summer) cleaned and I wasn’t required to take a photo of the dining room – because the dining room table is the catch-all and is COMPLETELY covered with junk. Sometimes I forget I even have a dining room table since I can’t see it.

I’m pretty sure you were just supposed to post one pic per room but, oh well, I took a bunch of photos ’cause I like to show ‘n tell.

Living Room

My living room is HUGE so I had to take three pictures for you to get the ‘full effect’. Unfortunately, the dog crates take up almost half of the freakin’ room.

Laundry Room

Pretty basic. Washer. Dryer. Shelves.

Kitchen sink

You really want to see my entire kitchen, don’t you???

This is my favorite part of my kitchen…my espresso machine. Oooooo, ahhhhh…

Arrgggghhhh. Just looking at it makes me hyper ventilate. This is the ONLY real closet in the house. My house was built in 1910…apparently, before the invention of closets. None of the bedrooms had closets so we built little closet-like cubbies in the corners for extra storage.

This is the cubbie in my bedroom; it holds all the bed linens (the top shelf is completely crammed full of pillow cases – I have a habit of collecting them):

My bathroom is teeny tiny…the toilet is hiding around the left corner. I could only back up so far – it was hard for me to get an entire shot of the ‘twoilet’. Heck, you’ve see one toilet, you’ve seen ’em all. *Notice the lovely blue wallpaper that I hung myself. Love, love, love it…even though it was a shitty, cheap paper and I ended up hanging it not once, not twice, but three times (the third time using super glue). Nothing like spending an evening hanging wallpaper, walking into that room the next morning and seeing all the paper curling off the walls. Grrrrr.

Yeah, I know. Crammed full of stuff. Remember…I’m keeping EVERYTHING from my cupboards in the fridge to keep all those nasty moths away.

This is just a sampling. These are the shoes I throw into one of the many cubbies. Many of these shoes don’t even see the light of day. I wear them once or twice and throw them back into the pile.

And here are the shoes that I wear the most. They get a prestigious spot on the porch floor. Lucky shoes.

This is me, first thing in the morning. Bwhahahaha! NOT. Don’t be silly, first thing in the morning I need a coffee IV. This is me at the end of an exhausting day. Beer was definitely needed.

I was tagged by the lovely, Teeni at Vaguetarian Tea Room to do this meme. Seeing as I’m never one to pass up a meme I’m running with it. Plus, I have nothing…nada, nill, zilch to write about this week so, here we go…

The rules are simple – just complete each of the following snippets. I’m not tagging anyone so if you wish to play along please feel free to do so. I’m being nice, just like Teeni, and including the blank meme at the end of this post so you can easily copy and paste.

I am: sitting on my deck enjoying a latte (’cause I just purchased my very own espresso machine – ha!)
I think: waaaaay too much.
I know: how to knit and crochet. (stop it! don’t laugh)
I have: to clean my house but I don’t want to.
I wish: I could trust more and worry less.
I hate: that if you buy an older box of hair color (because a particular store doesn’t care to pull old products from it’s shelves) your hair will turn out black (black as midnight, black as pitch, blacker than the foulest witch) no matter what color is depicted on the package. **10 points to whoever guesses the movie quote!**
I miss: sharing my life with a significant other.
I fear: that the cancer will come back.
I hear: a fan, and a dog snoring.
I smell: rosemary/lavender lotion.
I crave: a vacation in some remote location and Joseph Schmidt truffles (in that particular order)
I search: using Google every day.
I wonder: what he’s doing tonight.
I regret: some things; not many, and am trying to get over them and eventually will.
I love: my family, my Dead Charming, my dogs.
I ache: all over since I just got finished sanding, priming and painting a garage.
I am not: going to make the same mistake twice or thrice, or however many times I’ve made it.
I believe: in love.
I dance: in my living room with my daughter whilst listening to Hannah Montana (shhhh! don’t tell anyone!)
I sing: as loud and obnoxiously as I can to embarrass my daughter.
I cry: at movies, at commercials (especially if it involves animals), when I’m upset, when I’m worried, when I’m mad…pretty much all the time.
I fight: the urge to eat the entire 1/2 gallon of ice cream.
I win: at thumb wrestling (’cause I’ve got big, powerful thumbs)
I lose: my patience far too often.
I never: paint my finger nails.
I always: paint my toe nails.
I confuse: my dogs names sometimes…Ridley does sound like Bailey, right?
I listen: but sometimes it goes in one ear and out the other.
I can usually be found: sitting on my deck with my laptop.
I am scared: that my love and I will never be able to be together.
I need: a massage, and a snuggle with my love.
I am happy about: being in love.
I imagine: living happily ever after.
I tag: no one…
