Continuing on with the randomness that is my life, I’ve decided to share some photos that are near and dear to my heart. Here is my beach:

Well, it’s technically not “my” beach…but I like to think of it that way…just as I like to think of myself as King of the Mountain. Heh. Isn’t it loverly? I enjoy it immensely. And cannot (I repeat, cannot) wait until I can walk along this beach hand and hand with the one I love. *sigh* (wait, are those lyrics from a song? If not, they should be…gag)

These are my faves. I took them for my dearest, darling Dead Charming

And some more shots of the beach and the lighthouse (yes! a lighthouse) As a matter of fact, this lighthouse is the very first public building in the United States to be illuminated with natural gas (how about that, a little history lesson thrown in there for you). First, the harbor:

And the lighthouse:

The clouds were magnificent on this day so I had to include a few pictures:

The dogs got to do their favorite thing today (well, Gus’s favorite thing, Ridley’s not too sure about it):

Look at how happy that Gus boy is. He’s smiling! Ridley looks traumatized and just wants to get the hell out. Unfortunately, I missed getting the shot of Ridley panicking and trying to climb up the side of the dock. We had to yank him out of the water, poor thing. I think he just has too much fur and it weighs him down when he’s wet. But, he has webbed feet…he should like to swim, dammit. I also didn’t manage to get a shot of him trying to climb on his brother’s back while swimming. Poor Gus probably feels like one of those kids at the community pool who everyone clings to because they’re a better swimmer. I was sure I was going to have to do some doggie resuscitation, but everyone made it out okay. Phew.

SPLASH!

That’s it for today, kids. I’ll be back with more in a bit.

Welcome back, folks. Continuing on my random pictorial ramble, I thought I’d share some photos of my beautious garden with you, behold:

Ooooo, ahhhhhh….

And some bouquets from the garden:

Yes, I love my roses. I fill my house with fresh cut flowers as often as my garden permits. To me, there’s nothing better. While we’re on the subject of gardening I’ll show you my ferns that I poached from the Pennsylvania forest. Well, from my Grandmother’s forest…so, that’s technically not poaching, correct?

Bag o’ ferns being inspected by the PA Forest Ranger’s illegal fern poaching sniffing dog. Yeah, he wishes.

And, the lovely ferns in their new home (surrounding my deck):

Oh, and please don’t take note of the stone walkway in front of the ferns because those were also poached – from the beach. Apparently, (and I just found this out) it’s illegal to remove stones from our public beach. Oops. I guess I’m just a common criminal.

And here we have my favorite spot – my wonderful deck where I sit, drink my coffee, write posts, and chat with my love (*sigh*)

Isn’t this fun? Do you feel nosey? Aw…it’s okay. I’m nosey too. And there’s still more to come, kiddos. Until next time…

I’ve been all over the place lately (in time, space and brain activity) so I’ve got a great deal of ‘stuff’ rolling around in my head right now. I thought I’d share just a few interesting tidbits of my life with you. I don’t typically do this but thought it would be fun to do a little “show and tell”. I’ve been carrying my camera around with me everywhere because you never know when a great photo op will present itself. The following photos are, obviously, not the result of great photo ops…just random things I decided to shoot.

Last month I decided to repaint my garage. It was a garish orange/red color and had been that way for the past, oh, 10 years. It was time for a change. So, what does a professional painter do with her time off? She paints. Ugh. I forgot to take pictures before I started scraping and priming, but you get the idea:

The upper left shows the “before” color…and the right side is the new, improved “after” color – a deep plum (it actually looks more like a deep red – but I like it all the same).

And…the finished project…complete with upper half of ‘dog body’. And, a shot of my cock rooster. He wanted to be included. He’s kinda bossy like that.

Moving right along. A few weeks ago my daughter and her friends were playing in the back yard and discovered a hole. They kept poking, prodding, digging, and eventually shoved a very long stick down this hole. They came running to me saying “The hole in the back yard is like 9 feet deep…you must come see!” So, I went to take a peek. And this is what I saw:

Hmmm…a hole. Upon further investigation with a flashlight I was able to peer into the crack enough to see that what we have here is a well. Yes, a well! Complete with flagstone walls. It looks to be in pristine condition and I’m guessing that it measures approximately 5 feet deep and 4 feet wide. Now, my daughter and her friends are extremely exited and want to excavate the well. I’m not sure this is a good idea. There are several large stones layered over the hole and I’m just afraid if one of the kids digs too deeply they will dislodge a stone and WHOOSH! into the well they’ll go. So, the excavation is on hold at the moment until I decide on a safe method of unearthing it. I think it would be cool to have it all uncovered – but what the hell am I going to do with an empty well in my backyard? Fill it with water and make a doggy pool? I think not.

Are you bored yet? Good. I’m going to keep rambling. I have a lot of pictures to share and will probably have to continue on with this randomness in another post. But now I would like to share with you the randomness that is my compulsive stock-piling-of-beauty-products (and possibly many other things, now that I think about it). Take a look-see:

Top shelf of my walk-in closet: masses of products that I have stock piled. Why? Because they were on sale and God forbid I pass up a bargain! Lower shelf: masses of t-shirts in every color imaginable. Those are just the v-neck t-shirts. I have an entire drawer full of every-color-of-the-rainbow tank tops. Yeah. Do you think I have a problem? Nah.

Alright, kids, I’m sure you’re all asleep by now. I’ll continue this ramble another time.
